Dibrugarh University, the easternmost University of India was set up in 1965 under the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965 enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is a teaching-cum-affiliating University with limited residential facilities. Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences named after a great mathematician of 12th Century was set up in October, 1995. The college is affiliated to the University of Delhi and is funded by Government of National Territory of Delhi. The main goal of the institution is to train students in various self oriented professional courses like Computer Science, Electronics, Instrumentation and Food Technology.
